it seems to me we
try to pass
as just a simple
lad and lass
but speaking
words that others use
is our lips’ way
of self-abuse
what if instead
of trying prose
we spoke in poems
wearing no clothes
and when
folks joke we're demented
kiss them
well with words fermented
