warming up to eat

Patrick 1/22/11

Patrick 1/22/11

Warming Up:

Become aware of sensations, breath, emotions, body parts, bones, flesh, structures, smells, organs, belly, feet, sexual parts, etc.

Healing is listening and responding to our body with loving kindness. Spend a few minutes doing this without talking. (sounds and laughter are o.k.).

[Michael starts to sweep because the floor is still dirty.]

PC: Let your arms, head and upper body go on a ride while you are sweeping.

**

PC: Open eyes. Do eye circles. Remember warm up is an integration of all parts of your body. Let your eyes lead. They can move your head up and down. Let your arms help. Arms literally open your rib cage giving more room to your heart.
Make sure wrists and fingers don’t cut off the energy direction of your arms.
Og can move you too. Og thru arms

MK: I can feel when my entire body, even psyche, joins in the moving initiated by my eyes.

PC: head, heart, and og can lead you up.

**
[Michael’s agenda is to investigate his difficulty eating meals with people.]

1. MK: I lost my connection to you while preparing our food.

PC: what are the feelings that come up when you lose connection?

MK: shame and fear.

PC: what is a loving way to respond to shame and fear?

MK: It’s o.k. (even good for shame to be ashamed to lose connection.)
And it’s O.K. for fear to be afraid for cutting connection and being disconnected.

PC: Other feelings?

MK: Pride and arrogance for serving the meal well.
PC: And these feelings are o.k. too?

MK: Yes. I’m proud that I’m proud.
And proud to discover I’m arrogant.

PC: O.K. now we’re ready to eat.
Let’s pray.

M.K. Your prayer helps me feel connected to you and our earth-sky spirit.

PC: feel free to move between feeling we, then back to solo I,
Then back to I and You, back to We or solo I and so on.
Some “We” is our “I” feeling connected to the universe (or spirit of earth and sky and all around us and in us and us) and not to the person we’re eating with. Another We of course is to feel and be connected to the person we’re eating with.
